Does genetics used in medicine????

 


The branch of biology which deals with the study of the genetic variation, genes, and heredity in the organisms is known as genetics. Genetics is one of the processes which works with the combination of an organisms environment and experiences to influences the development and b behavior which often referred to as nature versus nurture.

Genetics had given rise to so many numbers of subfields which include epigenetics, molecular genetics, and population genetics. Genetics tries to identify the traits which are inherited and explain how those traits are passed from generation to generation. Some of the traits are a part of the physical appearance of the organisms such as a person’s height, eye color, and weight.

Genetics plays a very important role in not only understanding the cause of the disease but also helps in recognizing the manner in which the individual responds to the particular therapies. Drug metabolism which is one of the fields which is under the control of the genetics which is also susceptible to some of the side effects in some cases and is governed by genetic predisposition.

  Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a test which is used to detect the genetic material from a specific organism like virus. This test will helps in detecting the virus which is already infected in our body. The majority of PCR mainly rely in thermal cycling. The machine which is used for PCR testing is thermal cycler.
